James D. Calaway Joins OpenSpirit Board of Directors

STAFFORD, TX – July 24, 2007 – OpenSpirit Corporation announces the addition of James D. Calaway, President of Calaway Interests LLC, to its board of directors.

“In February, we announced our plans to expand our board of directors to include a new perspective,” said Dan Piette, President & CEO. “James is widely respected for his leadership and achievements in the public and private sectors, and has expertise not only in the energy industry, but in high-tech information management. He brings a keen understanding of the importance of integrated technology, and we are gratified that he has agreed to serve on our board of directors at this exciting period in our company’s growth.”

“OpenSpirit is working hard to deliver vendor-neutral integration solutions that impact the way energy professionals around the world leverage and interact with their data,” said Calaway. “I look forward to working with OpenSpirit’s respected group of board members to help shape the direction of the company as it continues to meet the challenges of the oil and gas industry.”

Prior to launching Calaway Interests, a private investment and development company, Calaway served as CEO of the Center for Houston’s Future. A successful entrepreneur, he has played an instrumental role in the development of a variety of private and public companies, including Network International, Inc., DigiContract, Inc. (acquired by DataCert), C-Sixty, Inc., Edge Petroleum Corp., Forefront Group, Inc., and Space Industries International, Inc. Calaway currently serves on several civic boards, including membership on the Council of Overseers of The Jones School of Management at Rice University, Chairman of the Houston Independent School District Foundation, and the Board of directors of YES Prep Public Schools, Interfaith Ministries and the Harris County Mental Health Association. His corporate board memberships include Network International Inc., Datacert, Inc. and We Are Teachers LLC. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Texas and a master's degree from Oxford University.
