Geoscientists and engineers need to deal with huge amount of voluminous data in the exploration & production value chain which includes exploration & appraisal, oilfield development, drilling & completion, production & abandonment. The data is in a variety of forms including tables, images, text, maps, specimen catalogs from vendors and partners, and data from various generations of processing and interpretation.

With asset teams located in different geographies, data proliferation happens in disparate databases, applications, and server locations. Hence it is a huge challenge to search for the right data at the right time for any analysis and interpretation of the oil company's business processes, as well as enable cross-discipline collaboration.

TCS provides an easy-to-use and intuitive web-based information portal, which enables faster access, search and retrieval of data from various corporate databases, such as OpenWorks, Finder, Seabed and PPDM. Engineering databases such as DIMS/OpenWells and applications such as Petrel, Geolog are also accessible. TCS leverages OpenSpirit Common Integration Framework which provides the key foundation for integrating a variety of industry-standard applications & repositories. In addition TCS can integrate corporate systems like SAP, Maximo, Documentum and Pipeline Management Systems.

The information portal can be accessed by users across various geographies. It supports a GIS-based user interface as well as a text based search engine to search for spatial and metadata across database and applications. TCS develops the GIS framework using ArcGIS Server or Google Map. The solution can be developed on MOSS, and FAST as the search engine.

The solution includes an intelligent GIS portal with alerts, queries, online information display, analytics, knowledge sharing, collaboration and management, which adds geographic insight and significance to all types of data, documents and facts.
