Lynn Babec, Vice President of Marketing Mark Godfrey, Chief Architect Mark Godfrey obtained a B.S. degree in Math, Computer Science, and System Design from the University Of Texas at San Antonio in 1985 and a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. Mark worked for Shell Services International for 14 years prior to joining OpenSpirit as a founding member. Mark spent his last 6 years at Shell working at Shell’s E&P research facility in Bellaire developing a proprietary application framework that was the precursor to the OpenSpirit framework. Clay Harter, Chief Technology Officer Clay Harter obtained a B.A. degree in Physics and Geology from Amherst College in 1976 and a M.S.. degree in Geophysics from Stanford University in 1977. Clay previously worked with the Chevron Corporation where he gained over 21 years of experience in a multitude of positions (U.S and U.K. based) in Exploration and Development Geophysics for operating companies, conducting and managing Geophysical R&D, managing IT support, Upstream architecture, and IT strategic planning. In 1999 he helped create the business plan for OpenSpirit Corporation and is one of the founding members since its inception in 2000. Dan Piette, Chief Executive Officer Dan received a BS in Mining Engineering with Honors from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1980. He worked for Exxon Minerals following graduation, and then joined David P. Cook and Associates, a software company serving the oil and gas industry, in 1982. In 1986, Dan joined Terra-Mar Resource Information Services as Vice President of Geosciences. Terra-Mar was a start-up software company focusing on technical computing in the energy and minerals industry. Dan was recruited to Landmark Graphics in 1989, and worked in a number of different capacities in that company, lastly as Vice President and General Manager of the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore. In 1996, Dan joined Bell Geospace, a venture funded start-up that used military technology to collect gravity gradient data for natural resource exploration, as VP of Sales and Marketing. He was appointed President and CEO in 1999. In this role, he successfully accomplished the restructuring of the company in 2000. Most recently, Dan was a Business Unit Manager at Input/Output, running the Land Data Acquisition Systems group. Additionally, Dan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Petroleum Geo-Sciences, a geophysical acquisition company. Jeff Rubenstein, Chief Operations Officer Jeff Rubenstein holds a B.S. degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Davis. He started his E&P career at Schlumberger in 1981 spent the next 10 years as a wireline logging engineer working throughout the US on land and offshore and various remote locations. He then worked in several software divisions within Schlumberger for the next 10 years including managing software engineering and commercialization groups and business development in South East Asia. In 1999 he helped create the business plan for OpenSpirit Corporation and is one of the founding members since its inception in 2000. Larry White, Vice President of Sales Larry White holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He started his E&P career at Schlumberger in 1971 as an offshore field engineer and spent the next 19 years in various functions, including the leading of two divisions, Marketing and Technical Manager for Wireline Atlantic and Region Sales Manager. He also served as President & CEO of Bell Geospace and Vice President of The Americas at Landmark Graphics. Larry most recently served as the Global Account Manager at Input/Output, Inc. with responsibility for a number of super major accounts, including ExxonMobil, BP, ConocoPhillips, Occidental, Chevron and Apache, as well as many independent oil company accounts.
