OpenSpirit and Schlumberger Information Solutions to Jointly Develop a Well Server for the GeoQuest Finder Master Database: HOUSTON (BUSINESS WIRE) - OpenSpirit(a) and Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) announced today they will jointly develop an OpenSpirit-enabled Well Server for the Finder(b) integrated data management system. Finder is an advanced system for capturing, storing, archiving, accessing and delivering corporate exploration and production (E&P) data. With this server, well data in Finder will be made available to a wide variety of OpenSpirit-enabled applications. This will permit OpenSpirit-enabled applications to seamlessly integrate information stored in the centralized corporate Finder repository with data residing in local project databases including Landmark's OpenWorks™ and the GeoQuest GeoFrame® reservoir characterization system. "Seamless access to information is essential to effectiveness of a corporate master data store," said Ihab Toma, vice president and general manager of Information Management for SIS. "This joint development will result in improvements in workflow efficiencies, data quality and open data access." "The OpenSpirit-enabled Finder Well Server will make Finder well and log data readily available to a wide variety of applications and workflow processes. By accessing data through the Finder Well Server, end-users will have access to the most up-to-date and accurate corporate data when they need it and where they need it," says Clay Harter, OpenSpirit's chief technology officer. The first commercial version of the Finder Well Server is expected before the end of the year. In addition to development of the Finder Well Server, GeoQuest, the software division of SIS, has recently released two OpenSpirit-enabled applications -- Variance Cube(b) volume attribute software and MathCube(b) seismic volume calculator.
