New CEO Named to Lead OpenSpirit Corporation

HOUSTON - May 19 ,2003 - The Board of Directors of OpenSpirit Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Piette to the position of Chief Executive Officer of OpenSpirit Corporation. Dan will assume his new responsibilities on June 2, 2003. Dan most recently served as a Business Unit Manager at Input/Output, Inc., having joined the company through its 2001 acquisition of S/N Technologies, where Dan had served as Chief Operating Officer.   Dan earned his BS degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1980 and began his professional career as a Mining Engineer with Exxon Minerals.   He joined his first start-up software company serving the oil and gas industry in 1982 as Manager-Technical Services at DPC&A and his second in 1986 as Vice President-Geoscience Applications at Terra-Mar Information Resources, Inc.   In 1989, Dan joined Landmark Graphics Corporation where he ultimately became VP/General Manager-Asia Pacific in 1995.   Following Halliburton's 1997 acquisition of Landmark, Dan joined Bell Geospace as Vice President-Sales and Marketing, and was, elected by the Board of Directors as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1999.   In this role, he successfully accomplished the financial restructuring of the company before leaving in 2000.   Dan was invited to join S/N Technologies in 2001 as Chief Operating Officer.

Managers reporting to Dan will include the incumbent management team comprised of Mark Godfrey (Chief Architect), Clay Harter (Chief Technology Officer), Jeff Rubenstein (VP - Operations), and Bart Stafford (VP- Sales).
