GUEST DEVELOPER PROGRAM
The OpenSpirit Guest Developer Program allows application developers to accelerate the process of enabling their applications for OpenSpirit.
Developers spend time in the OpenSpirit office to execute the initial phase of their development. During this visit, they learn about OpenSpirit subsystems that are applicable to their applications. OpenSpirit allows consultants to work with the application developers in developing an efficient strategy for using the OpenSpirit Framework. Offices, network infrastructure, and test data are provided during the visit.
SAMPLE SCHEDULE DAY 1
- Configuration of customer equipment for connecting to the OpenSpirit Guest Developer's network.
- Installation of OpenSpirit client development environment on customer's equipment. (Equipment can be provided if required.)
- Present overview of OpenSpirit.
- Detailed discussion of the domain models applicable to the application. These discussions can be phased throughout the visit.
- Verify installation by running the OpenSpirit Launcher and Data Viewers. As part of installation verification, demonstrate the basic OpenSpirit functionality, if necessary.
- Discuss an implementation plan for the application.
- Develop a roadmap for the rest of the stay. We recommend focusing on the basic object mapping, data access, and interaction issues first and defer user interface work until later. This can be accomplished by using as many existing OpenSpirit components as possible in the initial effort, but eventually replace them with customized user interface components.
- Start integrating!
SAMPLE SCHEDULE DAY 2
- Review status of application and the plan forward.
- Discuss deployment issues.
- Discuss testing environment. Do you have an OpenWorks and/or GeoFrame installation in your office for testing?
- Discuss OpenSpirit VPN service.
